Teaching Experience

Prior to returning to graduate school, I taught at Calvin Coolidge High School in the District of Columbia Public schools as a Teach for America Teacher. Teaching at Coolidge High School was probably the hardest, but most meaningful teaching experience I have had.  I taught Spanish and English as a Second Language to 9th - 12th graders for two years (1999-2001).

At UNC-Chapel Hill I taught intermediate and high intermediate Spanish in the Department of Romance Languages during the 2003-04 and 2004-05 school years.  I had classes of roughly 19 undergraduates.

I have also taught as a guest lecturer for Transportation Policy at  Department of City and Regional Planning at UNC-Chapel Hill (spring 2006).
