I am a Ph.D. candidate at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I expect to be graduating in May of 2008.

My fields of specialization are International Trade and Development with a special interest in the areas of inequality, the roles of women, and deforestation.

My current research focuses on colonist farmers in the Northern Ecuadorian Amazon. I am investigating the impacts of deforestation on the roles of women, the impact of women's work on the economic development of households, and the effect of property rights on the welfare and production choices of farmers.

I have also spent time researching the impact of differing measures of development on the shape of the Kuznets curve, as well as the impact of food aid on African Farmers.
