Here is a sample of my work:

Hillsborough Police Department

For my Public Relations Writing class, each student is required to participate in an APPLES service learning internship at a nonprofit agency. I have been interning at the Hillsborough Police Department this semester, and I have been able to write everything from the typical news release to a media advisory.

Nike, Inc.

For my Public Relations Case Studies class, five other students and I analyzed Nike, Inc. for a whole semester. We even had pretend stock in the company! At the end of the semester, we evaluated the company, focusing on its strengths and weaknesses and its opportunities and threats. Then we made our recommendations; Complete with goals, strategies and tactics!

Politics in Western Europe

Since my double major is political science, I thought I would include a sample of my political analysees. This paper was written for my Politics in Western Europe class. It is sort of boring though, unless you are interested in the Social Democratic parties of Western Europe.

A Business Proposal

I wrote this business proposal my freshman year for an English class. The assignment was to write a proposal to the Chapel Hill Investment Group, persuading then to grant permission for a new business on Franklin Street. I picked a fresh market called
Harry's in a Hurry. The proposal in a business format.

The trademark of Whole Foods Market, which recently bought out Harry's in a Hurry.

To see if I can convince you, read:

FRANKLIN STREET NEEDS A FRESH MARKET:
INVEST IN HARRY'S IN A HURRY

(Harry's in a Hurry was recently bought out by
Whole Foods Market)

I hope you enjoy reading mine! (It is definitely the most interesting thing on this page and probably the least scholarly, but it was an eye-opening experience about Hollywood and America).

Film Journal

American Movies and Culture

This American Studies class has been one of the most interesting classes that I have taken at UNC. All we did was watch American films and analyze what they were saying about the popular culture of their times. For example, we studied Animal House and what the film was saying about young adults in the late 70's and their rebellion against society. Throughout the semester , each student kept a journal of the movies they saw and what they thought about class discussions.
