About the Project:

The purpose of this project is to enhance and support the Carolina center for the study of Middle East and Muslim Civilizations in its two fundamental missions:

  • Promoting understanding of the Middle East area through teaching, research and community outreach.
  • Explore and promote cross-regional approaches to Middle Easter studies.

By providing valuable bibliographic information about the center's Arabic collection such as: author, title, publisher, place and date of publication, table of contents and a sample of the text for each title. This information will help researchers, scholars and students who are interested in conducting studies in the Middle Eastern area, Modern Muslim world and Arabic language to identify, read and understand the Arabic writing style. In addition, it will help to have a good idea about authors who are intrested to write about the main concepts in Islam such as: Islamic Fundamentalism, Sufism, Shiism...etc.
