Exploratory Factor Analysis
Psychology 236
Fall 1999

Brief Course Description

This course provides an in-depth treatment of a class of factor analytic models and procedures. We cover both traditional exploratory factor analytic methods, as well as the fundamentals of structural equation modeling. In addition, we focus on related models (e.g., principal components) and special cases of the factor analytic model (e.g., for analysis of dichotomous, ordered categorical, and other types of data, for "multimode" data). In all cases, both theory and practical applications in psychology and allied disciplines are emphasized.
