What is it?
Spend a Friday morning mingling with top professionals in advertising, public relations and marketing, and attend interesting panels and round table discussions. Learn how to land a job or internship, discuss the latest marketing trends, and correct misconceptions or affirm truths about the industry. Meet the rockstars responsible for managing several of the world's most iconic brands.

The format
The first panel is sorted by discipline. The panels you can choose to attend include Creative/Interactive, Account Management, Sports Marketing, Public Relations and Human Resources (Job, internship and resume). Each panel has three panelists and a discussion moderator.

The second panel merges disciplines to discuss the dynamic between positions, variance in responsibility and how they work together in the 'real world.' For example, one panel may consist of an Account Executive, a Creative and a Sports Marketer.

The format of the panel is pretty simple and students' questions facilitate much of the discussion. So, attend the symposium with a couple of questions prepared to ask panelists.

Question: What time is the symposium?
Answer: 8:30am-1:30pm
Question: I would like to attend, but I have Friday classes...
Answer: UNC students are excused from their classes because it's an official University event, so you shouldn't be penalized by your professor(s). In order to exercise this right, you must notify your professor(s) of your absence in advance. We will provide you with a letter on the day of the symposium, proving you attended. Your professor may request to see the letter.
Question: How much $$ does it cost to attend the symposium?
Answer: Nada, it’s free-99.
Question: What should I wear to the symposium?
Answer: Clothes, preferably. The style of dress is business casual. For men, this means you should wear khakis with a collared shirt or a suit. For women, a dress or slacks.
Question: Will lunch be served?
Answer: Nay, but there will be a continental breakfast in the morning and refreshments & snacks offered after the keynote.
Question: How many spots are there?
Answer: We wish that we could admit everyone but we are limited by our facility. Admission is first come, first serve. So, register today!
Question: When does registration end?
Answer: Provided there are still spots left, registration ends Monday, February 18th @ midnight.
