Data Warehousing
|
The Data Warehouse group extracts data from University operational systems such as FRS, HR, Payroll and Student Information, joins these data together both at the detail and summary levels, optimizes the data for reporting and then provides the finished product to campus users over the web for reporting and analysis. It is involved in all aspects of the Data Warehouse development lifecycle: requirements gathering, data modeling, data extraction, data cleansing, data transformations, metadata creation, database loads, database maintenance, and development and deployment of custom-built and packaged end-user web reporting tools. The Data Warehouse group also provides programming support for Office of the
President (OP) Reporting. It creates mandated reports and data extracts
according to a schedule set by UNC administration and provides further
support to Institutional Research for analysis and reconciliation of these
data.
