REGISTER now for the 2007 race!
What: 5K walk/run for Women’s Health When: Saturday, September 22; registration opens at 8am, the race starts at 9am Where: Student Recreation Center on UNC campus (on the corner of South Rd. and Stadium Dr.) Why: to raise money for the Orange County Rape Crisis Center
**There are several gifts from our sponsors that will be raffled off on the morning of the race. In addition, the top overall runners will win prizes, as well as the top runners in each age group**
Registration is open until the day of the race; however, in order to be guaranteed a t-shirt on the day of the race, you must sign up before September 12th.
This year, the proceeds from the race will be donated to the Orange County Rape Crisis Center.
The Orange County Rape Crisis Center is a non-profit, volunteer agency which has been serving the community since 1974. Their primary focus is to provide services to victims and community education on awareness and prevention of sexual violence. Their services are confidential and include: a 24–hour crisis intervention service that provides support and assistance to sexual assault victims, their families, and friends; information and referrals concerning the law enforcement, medical , and legal processes’; support groups and individual counseling for sexual assault and child sexual abuse survivors; programs on sexual assault awareness and prevention.” Their 24 crisis hotline is 1-866-WE LISTEN (935-4783).
