Attend APPLES Events
Every year, APPLES hosts workshops and forums that feature presenters and panelists with a wide range of expertise in various fields that relate to service-learning. If you are interested in learning about these opportunities, please contact us at apples@unc.edu.

Every spring we host our Fruits of Our Labor Showcase Celebration and we’d love to see you there! For more information, visit the Fruits of Our Labor Showcase.

Become an APPLES Community Partner
Stay connected to APPLES through its students! If you work in the non-profit or governmental sector and would like more information on becoming an APPLES Community Partner, send an email to our Community Partner Outreach Coordinator to schedule a site visit and learn more information. We partner with agencies in the following ways:

Request Course Volunteers
Service-learning courses are offered for UNC undergraduate students in more than 20 departments each year. APPLES is always looking for opportunities at organizations for students to link their academic learning with applied community-based experiences. As an integration of their academic course, students serve a minimum of 3 hours/week for 10 weeks during the fall or spring semester with one organization.

Offer Internships
In collaboration with a variety of organizations, APPLES offers part-time and full-time internships in the spring and summer. Spring internships are better suited for Triangle-based agencies while summer internships are offered at different locations throughout North Carolina. In addition to the valuable professional skills gained from the internship experience, students earn academic credit and a paid stipend that is shared by APPLES and the sponsoring agency.

Host an Alternative Break Group
Even if you do not live in the area, you can still help support the work of APPLES. APPLES sponsors alternative fall, winter and spring break programs to various locations across the United States. Each program is issue-based and students participate in community and agency-based service activities during their stay. View our listing of Program Destinations to see if we may be coming to your community.

Join the Advisory Board
APPLES has a permanent seat for an APPLES alumni member on the Advisory Board. Board members attend meetings twice a semester to provide guidance and feedback on the progress of APPLES. If you are interested in serving on the Advisory Board, please contact us at apples@unc.edu.
