Social Entrepreneur Fellowships | Summer Internship Program

Social Entrepreneur Fellowships

The faculty advisor is selected by the Fellow to help develop a rigorous, academic plan that is integrated with their community-based service project. At the end of the academic year, the faculty advisor evaluates the Fellows’ academic work related to the project and assigns a letter grade for 3.0 hours of academic credit. The faculty advisor requires the following from the Fellow:

  • A minimum of four journal entries during the academic year
  • A minimum 8-10 page research or reflection paper
  • Monthly meetings to exchange insight, address readings as outlined in the syllabus or academic plan and discuss project outcomes and recommendations

All faculty advisors must complete a Faculty Advisor Agreement.

Summer Internship Program

The faculty advisor is selected by the summer intern to help develop a rigorous, academic plan that is integrated with the content of their non-profit internship experience. At the end of the internship experience, the faculty advisor evaluates the interns’ academic work related to the intern experience and assigns a letter grade for 3.0 hours of academic credit. The faculty advisor will award credit through their department by registering the intern for 3.0 hours of course or independent study credit in the fall semester.

All faculty advisors must complete a Faculty Advisor-Intern Agreement in collaboration with their summer intern(s).
