APPLES provides resources for faculty members offering valuable service-learning experiences for their students. APPLES currently works with over 35 faculty representing 16 disciplines across campus.

Expectations of Faculty

  • Attend Core Connections Breakfast at the beginning of the semester
  • Prepare students for service and issues of diversity they may encounter
  • Provide ongoing opportunities for critical reflection

Fall Timeline

March: Inform APPLES of teaching a service-learning course
September: Attend Core Connections Breakfast
October: Submit service-learning agreements from students to APPLES
December: Receive completed agency evaluations of students from APPLES

Spring Timeline

November: Inform APPLES of teaching a service-learning course
January: Attend Core Connections Breakfast
February: Submit service-learning agreements from students to APPLES
April: Receive completed agency evaluations of students from APPLES
