APPLES Support

  • Assist with the intern selection and ongoing troubleshooting.
  • Develop sustainable campus-community partnerships.
  • Provide networking opportunities through workshops and seminars.
  • Provide half of internship stipend.

Expectations of Community Partners

  • Provide intern with orientation to the agency’s mission and goals.
  • Complete the Agency-Student agreement with the intern.
  • Provide training, supervision, feedback, and resources for the intern. Supervision is an integral part of the internship experience. Site supervisors and interns are required to meet at least one time each week throughout the internship.
  • Monitor intern progress and completion of the required hours.
  • Complete and submit evaluations of interns and the APPLES Service-Learning Program at the completion of the internship.

Spring Internship Timeline

Late August: Agency applications available on the APPLES website
Mid-September: Agency applications due
October: APPLES interviews intern applicants
November: Site supervisors interview potential interns
Early December: Spring interns selected and notified
Mid-January: Internships begin
Late April: Evaluations completed by site supervisor and sent to APPLES

Summer Internship Timeline

Early October: Agency applications available on the APPLES website
Late October: Agency applications due

Early February: APPLES interviews intern applicants
Late February: Site supervisors interview potential interns
Early March: Summer interns selected and notified
Mid - Late May: Internships begin
August: Evaluations completed by site supervisor and sent to APPLES
