Project: The Policy Context for Orphaned, Physically Handicapped Children in Kenya
Name: Morgan Abbott ‘12
Faculty Advisor: Professor Pam Jagger, Public Policy
Email: morganpabbott@gmail.com

While in Kenya, I will be conducting 12-15 key informant interviews with various policymakers, legislators, orphanage directors, adoption agencies, and social workers (both in East Africa and the United States). I will discuss the development, progression, and future of policies regarding orphaned or abandoned children in East Africa. Additionally, I will also do some documentary research, studying past, current, and pending legislation regarding orphaned and abandoned children, with emphasis on adoption policies and those with special needs.

**Due to restrictions with Kenyan law and IRB she cannot go into specifics about her research due to the private nature of what she is studying.
