Project: Project Safe Girls
Community Partner: Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA, Orange County Rape Crisis Center, and the Realistic Female Self-Defense Company

Project Safe Girls seeks to empower females, ages 5 to 23, through the teaching of mental and physical self-defense. By providing a supportive and energetic environment, participants will gain confidence and improve self-esteem while learning the basics and importance of safety. Project Safe Girls covers topics including safety awareness, emotional and physical abuse, rape, stalking (including cyber-stalking), the characteristics of healthy relationships, the warning signs of abusive relationships, and how to verbally deescalate a violent situation.
