The defined concept of a social entrepreneur, a person whose purpose is to profit positive social change as opposed to financial gain, has only been common knowledge for a decade or so, but social entrepreneurs have existed for centuries. Florence Nightingale, Susan B. Anthony, Vinoba Bhave (Ghandi’s mentor) – all were social entrepreneurs impacting change among their people.
