When do I apply to become a spring internship site? Applications for spring internship sites are posted on the APPLES website in late August. The application deadline is mid-September. The application deadline will be posted with the application and accompanying documents.

When will I find out if I have been selected as an internship site?
All potential spring internship sites will be notified of their standing late September.

How much is the Spring Internship Program stipend?
Internship sites and the APPLES Service-Learning Program each contribute $600 per intern, for a total of a $1,200 internship stipend.

When can I expect to receive a check for APPLES’ half of the stipend?
Internship sites will receive APPLES’ half of the stipend after the internship begins. Interns are to be paid on the host organization’s biweekly or monthly payroll.

Do interns receive academic credit for the Spring Internship Program?
Yes. Interns receive 3.0 hours of graded academic credit for the Spring Internship Program. Interns enroll in an Internship Course in the School of Social Work that meets weekly to discuss the nature of their work and issues encountered during the internship

When do I apply to become a spring intern?
Applications for the Spring Internship Program are posted on the APPLES website and are available outside the APPLES office in September. The application deadline is October. Continue to check the APPLES website for the application posting.

How many hours is a spring intern expected to work over the course of the semester?
APPLES spring interns work a total of 150 hours over the course of the spring semester. Generally, interns work 10 to 12 hours per week for approximately 15 weeks, although this schedule may vary depending on the needs of the internship site and the intern
