Million Meals, along with other Week of Welcome activities, is a collaborative service event for the Carolina community. This event, open to all students, faculty, staff and local area partners, role models the university's mission to impact and support our local and global community. The goal is to package 1 MILLION MEALS on Saturday, August 23rd! The meals, which will be distributed to crisis-burdened areas and school lunch programs throughout the world, are dehydrated, fortified rice-soy mixtures containing over 20 vitamins and minerals especially formulated for the undernourished.
The meals will be packaged at 3 regional host sites: NC State University, UNC-Chapel Hill, and East Carolina University. UNC-Chapel Hill is pleased to welcome volunteers from Duke University and North Carolina Central University.
