- Islamic Studies
A subfield in the M.A./Ph.D. Religious Studies program. A global, interdisciplinary, and comparative approach to the study of Islamic religion and Muslim cultures.
Masters Degree Programs
- MA in Political Science, Concentration Transatlantic Studies (TAM)
This innovative 14 month program is run in consortium with six European universities with study in Chapel Hill and at least one other partner site. All instruction in the language of the host university. Students may apply to receive the UNC MA degree or the equivalent European qualification at the site where they complete their Thesis module.
- Rotary Center for International Studies
In conjunction with Duke's Center for International Development, CGI trains graduate students from all over the world in fields related to international cooperation and conflict resolution with an emphasis on democracy building and sustainable development.
- MA in Russian and East European Studies (MA RUES)
The MA RUES is primarily a pre-professional degree designed to train students through an interdisciplinary language and area studies curriculum. This flexible program integrates graduate students’ interests with a solid foundation of regional knowledge in order to develop technical and academic expertise. Degree requirements include 30 credit hours and a thesis based on original research.
