Terms and Conditions of LAC TA Positions:

The LAC Program is funded by federal grants that prohibit us from paying any portion of tuition or fees.  Tuition, fees, and benefits must be paid by the TA’s home department or be covered by the graduate student.

LAC positions are intended to serve as supplemental teaching experience, not a primary source of funding.

LAC TAs must consult with their home department’s Director of Graduate Study to ensure that they do not exceed the Graduate School’s recommendations concerning maximum teaching loads during the 2012-2013 academic year.

Application Procedure:

To apply for one of the LAC TA positions listed above, submit the following materials (by email or mail) Thursday, April 5 to Tanya Kinsella, Center for European Studies, CB# 3449:

1) An Fall 2012 application form (PDF); --revised 4/3/12

2) A cover letter summarizing your interests and qualifications;

3) A curriculum vitae that includes any relevant degrees and your past teaching experience;

5) One foreign language evaluation form, completed by a UNC faculty member.

Stipend:
Each LAC TA receives a total of $5,000 (usually paid in the form of two $2,500 one-time payments). $1000 of the total payment may be withheld if the TA fails to submit his/her course materials by the end of the semester.

Tuition Support:
The LAC program is funded by federal grants that prohibit us from paying tuition or fees for LAC TAs. Tuition, fees, and benefits must be paid by the TA’s home department or covered by the graduate student.
