Amount of Funding
Graduate students
- Academic year awards: $15,000 stipend plus UNC-CH tuition and fees
- Summer awards: $2500 plus tuition and fees
Undergraduate students
- Academic year awards: Please contact the FLAS coordinator in your world region for information
- Summer awards: $2500 plus tuition and fees
Residency
- All applicants are encouraged to apply for in-state residency, thus lowering tuition costs and increasing the overall amount of FLAS awards given each year. Ultimate residency status will not affect the outcome of the competition.
