ABOUT US | ||
| The purpose of the A.R.T. Project is to develop a interactive online timeline of U.S. religious history. The timeline plots events occuring within the present-day borders of the United States (as well as selected events outside the United States that impact U.S. religious history) from the time of the earliest Native American settlements through the present day. A leading goal of the A.R.T. Project is to represent the pluralism of American religion. Conceived by graduate students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University, the A.R.T. Project has unfolded in its initial phases as a collaboration between students and faculty at those two institutions. However, students and faculty anywhere are invited to contribute as we compile hundreds of events for inclusion in the timeline. The A.R.T. Project is the recipient of a grant from the Robertson Scholars Collaboration Fund.
