The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

AFS Space Request

AFS space is available to every department for general use, and to each faculty member for research and teaching.

Department chairs can request up to ten (10) gigabytes of AFS space to meet overall departmental needs. However, the department must appoint an AFS administrator to manage this space. This administrator will be responsible for allocating the departmental space and defining access rights for departmental users. Training for AFS departmental administrators will be provided by ATN as necessary.

Each faculty member is eligible for up to 10 gigabytes of additional space within the departmental hierarchy for research and teaching. The total amount of AFS space available to a department is 10 gigabytes * ( 1 + # of full-time equivalent faculty members).
