Davis Library Epigraphy Room

In cooperation with the Circulation Department of Davis Library, the Department of Classics has established a special room for the study of epigraphy and paleography, which is also of great research value to the Center and its guests. The room contains a basic reference library of books (drawn from the library collection) and some journals that pertain to these disciplines. Located one floor above the Map Center on the sixth floor of Davis Library (Room 6010), the room has ample table space for convenient access to these volumes, a small but representative collection of squeezes of Greek inscriptions, and an extensive assemblage of materials on Roman Dacia (gift of Donald W. Wade). Access to the campus computer network (but not wireless) is available to registered campus network users. The Department regularly offers courses in epigraphy and paleography, which are taught in this room. In keeping with the library’s mission to serve the people of the state, all library patrons are welcome to use this facility during regular library hours; keys may be checked out from the circulation desk.
