Books and readings

There is one required text for this course:

• L. de Blois and R.J. van der Spek, An Introduction to the Ancient World, Routledge 1997 (later reprints ok), ISBN 0-415-12774-2 (paperback).

In addition, you will be required to read other material as assigned, which will be made available to you over the web or as a handout in class or recitation. Reading assignments are indicated in the lecture schedule and the recitation schedule, and may also be updated in class or via email by your instructor. All reading assignments are to be completed before the class or recitation session for which they are assigned.
