Academic integrity

The UNC-CH honor code has a clear discussion of academic integrity. Its provisions — especially the prohibitions against plagiarism, falsification, unauthorized assistance and cheating — apply to this course and will be rigorously enforced. You are responsible for knowing and complying with the honor code.

Attendance

Prompt attendance at all lectures, recitation sections and final examination are required. An attendance roll will be circulated at each occasion. Absences or tardiness not approved in advance by your instructor will lower your final grade. Timely requests for absences must be made in accordance with the procedures of your college or program, and must be accompanied by appropriate documentation.

Disabilities

Learning or physical disabilities that affect your course work will be addressed, but they must first be confirmed in advance by the Learning Disabilities Services Office or the Department of Disability Services as appropriate. The staff of these organizations will specify the appropriate accommodation in accordance with university policy. Your instructors are not legally authorized by the university to devise accommodations on their own. Accommodations will not be made for already past assignments if these procedures were not followed in advance.

Problems, Questions or Concerns

Please do not confront your instructor or teaching assistants with personal problems or questions about the course in the classroom immediately before or after lecture or recitation. Ample time is provided at office hours for this purpose; please take advantage of it.
