The Newberry Library in Chicago will host the The Sixteenth Kenneth Nebenzahl, Jr., Lectures in the History of Cartography November 8-10, 2007. The lecture series, organized by Richard Talbert for the Hermon Dunlap Smith Center for the History of Cartography, will be entitled "Ancient Perspectives Maps and their Place in Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece and Rome." The program includes lectures by Alexander Jones (Toronto), Francesca Rochberg (University of California – Riverside), David O’Connor (New York University), Georgia Irby-Massie (College of William and Mary), Michael Lewis (Hull, U.K.), Richard Talbert, and Benet Salway (University College, London, U.K.).

The Nebenzahl Lectures are free and open to the public; however, registration is required. To request a registration form, contact:
