The Oxford Centre for Maritime Archaeology is a new research entity, created in collaboration between the Oxford University Institute of Archaeology, the Institut Européen d’Archéologie Sous-Marine and the Hilti Foundation. The OCMA is currently collaborating with IEASM in the study of two major sites: the ancient port of Alexandria and the submerged Canopic region sites in Aboukir Bay, both located in the modern country of Egypt. In addition to information about these research projects, the OCMA website describes the nature of maritime archaeological projects at Oxford, and includes a brief description of its publication plans, an illustrated field work overview, and a calendar of events.
