The Alexandria Digital Library Gazetteer Development Page collects information about the full range of digital gazetteer development efforts that are on-going under the rubric of the Alexandria Digital Library project. The site includes information about ADL’s Gazetteer Content Standard, Gazetteer Service Protocol, licensing arrangements for ADL gazetteer services and content, gazetteer discussion list, and related publications. The full list of 5.9 million placenames currently cataloged by the ADL Gazetteer are also available for download.
