David Gill explains his site as providing "some photographic resources to explore some of the archaeological monuments of the city of Athens and the surrounding countryside of Attica." Images are grouped into several areas of the city of Athens(Acropolis, Agora, Kerameikos, Pnyx) as well as various other parts of Attica (various cemeteries, the Piraeus, Eleusis, Sounion, Brauron and Thorikos). Many major sites and monuments are well represented, as are a number of important reliefs, stelae and inscriptions (including some textual close-ups). Bibliography is usually provided for the sculpture and inscriptions.Art and Archaeology of Attica
