20th Annual University/Community Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Banquet: Howard Lee, Chairman of the State Board of Education, will deliver the key note address.

To purchase tickets ($25.00 each), contact the Office for Minority Affairs at 962-6962 or download and complete a ticket order form. You are also invited to make contributions to the MLK Scholarship Fund by sending donations to P.O. Box 612, Chapel Hill, NC 27514.

Classes cancelled to honor Dr. King.  Remember, this is not a day OFF, it's a day ON.  Participate in activities like:

The 5th annual Day of Service, sponsored by Carolina R.O.C.T.S. (Rejuvenating Our Community Through Service)
: Each year, Day for Service brings together a diverse group of Carolina students interested in giving back to the greater Chapel Hill community. This year, R.O.C.T.S. hopes to continue this Carolina tradition by inviting you and your friends to be volunteers in this year s program. Each participant receives a T-shirt and lunch as well as transportation to and from the community service project site.  Student and volunteer registration forms can be found at http://www.unc.edu/rocts and are due by 5pm on Friday, January 14, 2005.  Be sure to register today as space is limited!
