Aryonna's Story
Although Aryonna Muhammad is only 13 years old, she has been hospitalized more than 40 times. She misses at least two weeks of school each year and must greatly limit her physical activity. Aryonna has sickle cell anemia, a systemic disease that doesn't allow her to have the normal life of a teen-ager.

Wright's Story
Shortly after Wright Duffel was born his doctor discovered that he had a complex combination of four heart defects. In order to save Wright's life, surgery was necessary.

Valerie's Story
Valerie Hillard almost didn't survive her pregnancy. In her seventh month, she experienced sever pains in her abdomen and chest. After three days of symptoms, she was rushed to the hospital. Valerie was suffering from Eclampsia, a form of high blood pressure that can lead to internal bleeding and organ failure. After delivering her premature son by Cesarean section, she began hemorrhaging, and need an emergency blood transfusion.
