GRANDFATHER MOUNTAIN -5/21/98- Grandfather Mountain owner Hugh Morton, left, chats with Michael Hooker, chancellor of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, on the mountain's famous Mile High Swinging Bridge. Hooker, along with new faculty members and administrators, was touring the state in a five-day bus trip to acquaint the professors with their new home. Faculty members discussed with Morton the effects of acid rain on upper-level forests. |

GRANDFATHER MOUNTAIN -5/21/98- New University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill faculty and administrators hike a trail on Grandfather Mountain during a Tar Heel Bus Tour stop. The five-day, 1,200-mile trip gave participants the chance to acquaint themselves with the state and its people. |

New faculty and administrators from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill visited the shop as part of the Tar Heel Bus Tour. Jason is pursuing a double major in anthropology and computer science at UNC-CH. He plans to work in a computer science-related field after graduation but later hopes to continue the proud family tradition of making pottery. |
