YADKINVILLE -5/22/98- Bill Rhew, general manager of manufacturing at Unifi Inc., gives new faculty and administrators from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill a tour of a high-tech polyester fiber plant during the five-day Tar Heel Bus Tour. The stop emphasized the importance of the textile industry to the state's economy.

BLOWING ROCK -5/22/98- Participants in the 1998 Tar Heel Bus Tour pose for a group picture Friday morning in at the Green Park Inn before heading out for the fifth and final day of their tour of North Carolina. The 1,200-mile tour aimed to give new faculty and administrators a chance to meet citizens of the state.
