Application
Applicants for the C-START program should be Seniors during the 2008-2009 academic year and must plan to be at UNC during both semesters.
During the fall term, C-START student-instructors will prepare their courses under the supervision of a faculty mentor. They will be required to participate in a series of workshops conducted by the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL). At the end of the fall semester, C-START student-instructors will submit their syllabi to the C-START oversight committee. Once approved by that committee, C-START courses are scheduled for the spring.
Student-instructors will receive three (3) hours of graded independent study credit for designing and teaching their courses.
Please complete the C-START Application and submit it along with:
- A description of the proposed course and your qualifications to teach it
- A resume
- Letter of support from a faculty mentor
Course descriptions should be no longer than three (3) double-spaced pages.
Six copies of all application materials should be submitted as e-mail attachments (Word or PDF files) addressed to Jason Clemmons, university manager for the Honors Program and the Johnston Center for Undergraduate Excellence:
