About Cadence The All Female Acappella group now
known as Cadence, had been founded by Mellissa “Lisa” Offoha in 2003, then a junior
at UNC.. The group went through a great
number of drastic changes over its founding years; however, after a great
deal of hard work, effort and practice, the group established its presence
making a name for its self in Chapel Hill.
It currently consists of 16 diverse talented young women who enjoy
singing songs of many genres from hip-hop to bluegrass. The Cadence repertoire continues to overflow with an
eclectic brew of music. Cadence performs at many on-campus
and community events. We also perform
at private events and special occasion requests. Along with our periodic performances
throughout the semester, we also put on our own concert towards the end of
each semester. These concerts consist
of our repertoire, guest groups, skits and often audience participation
activities. As
our strength and popularity continues to grew, Cadence works hard to fulfill
its original purpose, to reach out to the campus of UNC Chapel Hill through
music. |
