Maintaining Ethics and Professional Boundaries in Our Schools
Protecting Teachers and the Students They Serve
This is an ethics protection/violation prevention course for middle and high school teachers and administrators. It is not intended for educators or administrators who are dealing with disciplinary procedures. The purpose of this course is to reduce a teacher’s or administrator’s violation potential.
The most unique ethics course ever developed for teachers, Maintaining Ethics and Professional Boundaries in Our Schools is an online, interactive, computerized experience based on the same teaching tools used to train physicians. The course is specially designed to minimize a teacher’s potential for an unfounded accusation or an actual violation of codes of ethics, school policies, regulations, or state statute.
This course has been created with the knowledge that all professionals have a violation potential that dynamically changes in response to professional risk factors and personal vulnerabilities. Most teachers are unaware of these factors, which explains why an ethical educator can commit an unethical act during a susceptible period in his or her personal life.
For its primary purpose, this course will guide you through a reflective experience that will bring understanding to your violation potential. As you gain insight, the program will automatically create your individualized Stratified Ethics Protection Plan for the maintenance of a low violation potential and a safer teaching environment.
