Irish Brooches of the Early Medieval Celtic Period

An exhibition by Alisa Petti

The images selected for this exhibition include Irish brooches of the early Christian period and the Golden Age of Celtic art.  The images selected represent a cross-section of representative brooches of the period.  It is important to note that few of Ireland's treasures exist today.  Fortunately, many examples of metalwork have been recovered since they were interred in the ground, and consequently not as susceptible to destruction.
