Site Information

The Celtic Art and Cultures Web Site was created for use in the Art History course Celtic Art and Cultures (Art 111) at UNC in the Fall semester, 1998. This site continues to be used for the students working on independent studies. Celtic Art and Cultures will be offered on a regular, bi-annual basis. The development of this site was primarily funded by an Instructional Technology grant provided by the Office of the Chancellor at UNC.

The site received a 1999 EDUCAUSE Medal award, partnered by the College Art Association. Four awards were given nationally to individuals "who are demonstrating that information technologies can successfully address pedagogical problems, offer clear advantages over other techniques, and improve student learning in undergraduate education."
