WHEN CAROL L. FOLT was installed as Carolina’s 11th chancellor and first woman leader in October 2013, she said, “As America’s first public university, Carolina became the gold standard. The founders passed the baton, and the future is up to us. How can we fulfill this honorable charge in a way that is ever fresh and relevant?”

Folt – an internationally recognized scientist, award-winning teacher and accomplished administrator – has worked to fulfill that charge by championing Carolina as a great global public research university. Bain & Co. Interim Report Now Featured on University Budget Web Page

April 24, 2009

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff:

We've posted more new information to the Carolina Budget Information Web page, accessible at www.unc.edu. The latest addition is a video presentation to provide the University community with an interim report on the work we're doing with the help of Bain & Company, the global business consulting firm that is helping us identify innovative ways to streamline operations, become more effective, and perhaps achieve additional cost savings. With the academic year winding down, we wanted everyone to have the opportunity to know the current status of this work and how it will continue to move forward over the summer.

I hope you'll take the time to view the presentation.

Sincerely,

Holden Thorp
