Chancellor's Search Committee Members
Chair
Nelson Schwab III of Charlotte. Schwab is immediate past chair and a current member of the University's Board of Trustees. He completed two terms as trustee chair in June. A UNC alumnus, Schwab was first appointed to the board in 2001. He is co-founder of the Charlotte-based merchant banking firm Carousel Capital.
Vice Chairs
Roger Perry of Chapel Hill. Perry was elected chair of the University's Board of Trustees in July. The Carolina alumnus joined the board in 2003. He is president of East West Partners.
Karol Mason of Atlanta. Mason also is vice chair of the University Board of Trustees. A Carolina alumna, she was appointed as a trustee in 2001. Mason is a partner at the law firm Alston and Bird LLP.

Russell "Rusty" Carter of Wilmington, current secretary of the University's Board of Trustees, president of the Atlantic Corp. of Wilmington and a UNC alumnus.
John Ellison Jr. of Greensboro, president and chief executive officer of the Ellison Company Inc. He holds two Carolina degrees.
A. Donald Stallings of Rocky Mount, chief executive officer of Eagle Transport Corp. Inc. and a Carolina alumnus.

J.J. Raynor of Charlotte, N.C., student body president-elect and a junior economics and peace, war and defense major who will serve ex officio on the University's Board of Trustees after being sworn in later this spring.

Dwight M. Davidson III, a 1977 UNC alumnus and chair of the General Alumni Association's Board of Directors, of Gibsonville, N.C.
Julia Sprunt Grumbles of Chapel Hill, a 1975 UNC alumna and retired vice president of Turner Broadcasting who serves on the Carolina First Steering Committee and co-chairs the Carolina Women's Leadership Council.
William B. Harrison Jr., a native of Rocky Mount and currently residing in Greenwich, Conn., a 1966 UNC graduate and retired chairman and director of JPMorgan Chase & Co. He is heading a Global Leadership Circle for the University.
Willard J. “Mike” Overlock Jr. of Greenwich, Conn., a 1968 Carolina alumnus, senior director of Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and co-chair of the Carolina First Campaign.
Willis P. Whichard of Chapel Hill, a 1962 UNC graduate who earned a law degree in 1965 and is former associate justice of the N.C. Supreme Court and former dean of the Campbell University law school.
