On June 29, 2005, Chancellor Moeser hosted a reception at the Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore to celebrate Carolina’s growing presence in Singapore. Honored guests included Carolina alumni, key administrators and faculty of the National University of Singapore, and Carolina students participating in the Singapore Summer Immersion Program. During the reception, the Chancellor briefly discussed Carolina’s presence in Singapore and presented NUS Provost Tan Chorh Chuan with a gift in honor of the deepening relationship between the National University of Singapore and Carolina

Singapore Summer Immersion Program Event

Carolina students participating in the Singapore Summer Immersion Program hosted Chancellor Moeser and Carolina administrators for an afternoon at the National University of Singapore. After a brief tour of the University Cultural Centre, Moeser and the UNC delegation talked with the students about their experiences in Singapore. Alston Gardner and Barbara Lee, the benefactors of the Singapore Summer Immersion Program, joined the group.

Bangkok

Chancellor Moeser and UNC-Chapel Hill representatives spent time in Bangkok with administrators from Thai universities, with UNC alumni, current students, and incoming students, and with governmental officials who support Carolinafs strong relationships in Thailand.
