Welcome to UNC
Women’s Club Volleyball! Our club has grown to produce two nationally
competitive teams of about 10 girls each. The teams practice together and go
to about four tournaments in both the fall and spring semesters. Tournaments
are mostly single day events (Saturdays) with a few multi-day tournaments
(Saturday and Sunday). Club members pay one-time dues in the fall. Dues vary
from year to year, so if you have questions about the upcoming year, please
contact one of the co-presidents under “Contacts.” The club
volleyball season culminates in a national sports club competition in April.
For the first time ever in 2010, the club sent two teams to the NCVF National
Championships in Both teams are
part of Carolina Women’s Club Volleyball League (CWCVL), which includes 16
universities in Commitment: The Women’s Volleyball Club expects commitment and hard-work
from each of its members. Traditionally, practices are from 8 to 10 pm on Tuesday
and Thursday evenings in Fetzer Gym, though the
schedule varies with gym availability each year. In order to play and perform
well in tournaments, it is of the utmost importance that club members attend
ALL practices. It is expected of the potential members to have no other
commitments (class, work, friends, etc) during practice times. Tournament
schedules are given out well in advance to get off work also. Each member is
allowed to miss practices with prior approval. No practices can be missed the
week before a tournament. |
