In March 2001, the University’s Board of Trustees approved
the Campus
Master Plan.
The 2001 campus master plan guides the major building program
currently underway on campus. Midway through the construction
program, there is a need to update and evaluate this plan.
The update will continue the work of the 2001 master plan
in identifying the responsible capacity for building on campus
and ensuring that new development follows the principles:
Support Carolina’s
mission.
Export the qualities of McCorkle and Polk Places.
Enhance the University’s intellectual climate.
Support local and regional planning principles.
Community workshops were held in September 2004 and May 2005.
The next community meeting is anticipated for Fall 2005.
