HISTORY Company Carolina was formed in 1994 as a
student theater organization at the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill. Started as a joint project between the Department
of Communication Studies and a group of undergraduates, Company
Carolina was created to provide students with a theater group
that could present opportunities to participate in all the elements
of a theatrical production. Company Carolina was, and still
is today, the only student theater organization at Carolina
based on a professional theater model. This gives its members
a chance to experience all aspects of the theater including
performing, producing, directing, working on the backstage and
technical needs of the production, as well as carrying out all
of the day to day needs of a professional theater. Putting these
principals to work, Company Carolina has presented nine highly
successful seasons to the university community.
