Now that Animazement is over, GLOCK members can finally focus in entirety for the upcoming con that is going to be held in New Jersey this summer, Shoujocon. Click here to go to their official website. Shoujocon, as has been previously mentioned, will be held in New Jersey, on July 15th and 16th, 2000. The latest news is that the Shoujocon committee has decided to increase its attendance to 500 people! It is highly recommended that you register now if you are interested in attending Shoujocon.
So what is Shoujocon all about, anyway? As quoted from the official website, Shoujocon is a celebration of shoujo [girls'] manga and anime. That's right, a fan
convention devoted to Girls' Stuff. The convention will have the regular convention stuff, such as video rooms, panels, dealers' room, etc. Unfortunately, Minami Ozaki [the creator of Zetsuai 1989 and Bronze since 1989], who was scheduled to be one of the con's guests, is reportedly unable to attend Shoujocon. But, no worries, my fellow fangirls! There are still the shounen-ai movie marathon [All night long, baby! Kick it!!] and cool shoujo panels for us to go to...
Another really cool thing about the con is that the people that are running Aestheticism, are going to be the ones in charge of Shoujocon. [Mwahaha!] It will be interesting to finally be able to meet them. That's right, hours and hours of yaoi-related discussions. Rejoice, my fellow fangirls!
