My name is Kasey Ann Bumgarner.  I am now attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  My home town is Hickory, North Carolina.  In high school I played volleyball, track, and I was a member of the dance team.  I took dance for seven years.  I was also President of my high school Beta Club.  In high school I received my certification as a nursing assistant.  One of my favorite hobbies is to go horseback riding.  I also like to go to the beach and go putt putting.
     At Chapel Hill I am majoring in nursing.  I hope to graduate from Chapel Hill in 2007 and then go to graduate school for nursing.  My goal is to become a nurse practitioner one day.  I would love to work in a children's hospital.  
I chose multiple myeloma because I heard about it in my biochemistry class this semester.  I wanted to learn more about it because my professor said it was a pretty new disease.
