University Day marks the anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone at Old East, the action regarded as the tangible beginning of the University. At 212 years old, this year's celebration at UNC saw the first student and Employee Forum representatives included among the ceremonial speakers. The lively Dr. Christopher Armitage, Professor of English, delivered the keynote address, "Change and Chance." Read more about Carolina then and now and the events of the day.
