| Professor Rachel Willis provided an overview of the course content, structure, and expectations for learning. Students also met the teaching team members that have planned and will lead the semester offerings. In Monday plenary sessions, students hear distinguished guests such as William Friday and Chancellor Moeser. These guests discuss a wide range of topics important to higher education that reflect both how universities work as communities within themselves and in local and global communities. In Wednesday seminars, students explore in-depth the impacts of higher education in three areas: public service, economic development, and admissions and enrollment. Finally, Friday field labs offer students the opportunity to visit people and places that represent the ideas discussed in the course. |
