Warm Carolina sunshine and gentle breezes provided a perfect backdrop for a walking tour of the UNC campus with Paul Kapp. With stops at the Franklin Street Post Office murals, McCorkle Place, the Unsung Heroes monument, Old East, Gerrard Hall, Polk Place, and the Bell Tower, Kapp illustrated the evolution and influence of the University via its architecture. Kapp used these stops among the majestic oaks, classic brick buildings, and temple fronts to show where the old has met the new throughout various times in the campus history. As the University continues to grow, lead, and serve as a model institution in higher education, it strives in its appearance to embrace the future while honoring the past that endears the campus to so many.
