Each day at UNC, almost 8,000 non-faculty EPA and SPA employees perform a variety of functions to help the University fulfill its mission. In his presentation, Linwood Futrelle, past Chair of the Employee Forum, helped us gain a perspective on the breadth of work conducted by UNC employees, from administration and academic support, to public service, R&D, and facilities management. The Employee Forum exists to advocate for the issues important to UNC staff, including training and development opportunities, compensation, and parking considerations. Students have traditionally been key collaborators with the UNC staff as well in creating positive change for the campus environment and those who live and work there.
